The Emperor's New Clothes

“Dress for success” is good advice that the Emperor takes whole-heartedly, wanting to impress new friends. But where to stop? When the clothes (and other people’s opinions) become more important than the people of the kingdom, trouble brews. To help their beloved Emperor find the way back to his heart, his true friends create an elaborate “birthday suit” for the Emperor to wear for his birthday parade celebration. The Emperor quickly and humbly learns that sometimes “less is more”!

It’s about that time for our Missoula Children’s Theatre Workshop!! This year the children will be putting on “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

If your child is interested in participating here are a few things you need to know:
• Doors to McCoy’s Grand will open on Monday, June 24th at 9:00.
• Registration will begin at 9:30.
• AUDITIONS will begin at 10:00.
• Once auditions are over and the directors have announced the cast, a schedule for the week will be given out.

• There will be TWO performances on Saturday at 3:00 and 5:30.

We hope to see you Monday, June 24th at registration so we can have a fun week together!

What is Missoula Children's Theatre at McCoy's Grand?  Missoula gives local students a crash course in putting on a show.  Students ranging in age from kindergarten to 12th grade can participate in Missoula, which lasts one week.  It’s a fun-filled week as students learn all that goes into putting on a show, both in front of and behind the curtain.  The Missoula team arrives with costumes, sets – everything needed to put on a quality show… except the cast.  Local students provide their time and talent, and the Missoula crew takes care of the rest.  The week concludes with two public performances of the show.

Past Missoula shows at McCoy's Grand have included shows inspired by the familiar stories of "Rapunzel", "Cinderella", "King Arthur's Quest," "The Wizard of Oz," "Robinson Crusoe" and "Alice in Wonderland" and "Pinocchio".

Missoula Children’s Theatre, based in Missoula, Mont., has toured the world for more than 30 years bringing theater to communities.  More than 24 teams of Tour Actor/Directors visit more than 1,100 communities each year.  Learn more about Missoula by clicking  HERE.
