Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre production of “The Frog Prince” will be held June 25, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon at McCoy’s Grand Theatre in Moorefield!  There are roles for students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade.  All ages are needed!   Approximately 50 local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Directors.  Students wishing to audition must stay for the entire two-hour session.  The first rehearsal begins 30 minutes after the audition ends.  There will be a fee ($25) for children that are cast to help cover the expense.  Subsequent children from the same immediate family will be charged a fee of $20 each.  Each participating child receives one free ticket to a Saturday, June 30, performance.

This is a group audition - no advance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts!

What is Missoula Children's Theatre at McCoy's Grand?  Missoula gives local students a crash course in putting on a show.  Students ranging in age from kindergarten to 12th grade can participate in Missoula, which lasts one week.  This year "The Frog Prince" is scheduled for June 25-30.  It’s a fun-filled week as students learn all that goes into putting on a show, both in front of and behind the curtain.  The Missoula team arrives with costumes, sets – everything needed to put on a quality show… except the cast.  Local students provide their time and talent, and the Missoula crew takes care of the rest.  The week concludes with two public performances of the show.  The ticket price for each of the public performances is $5.

Students jump right in, as the first rehearsal begins 30 minutes after the audition ends.  No advance preparation is necessary for this group audition.  There is a fee ($25) for children that are cast to help cover the expense.   Note: Subsequent children from the same immediate family are charged a fee of $20 each.  Each participating child receives one free ticket to a public performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Although not all cast members are needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.  A detailed rehearsal schedule is distributed at the conclusion of the audition.

REHEARSALS will be held June 25 through June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  There will be a half-hour lunch break each day.  There will be TWO PUBLIC PERFORMANCES on Saturday, June 30, at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.  All rehearsals and performances will be held at McCoy's Grand Theater.  All those cast must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances.

PERMISSION:  All participating students are required to have a permission form signed by their guardian.

“Missoula Children’s Theatre travels all over the United States and several foreign countries with their mission of bringing theater to a wide variety of children,” said Derek Barr, a member of the McCoy’s Grand Theatre board of directors.  “It’s a special week for all those who participate.”

Past Missoula shows at McCoy's Grand have included shows inspired by the familiar stories of "King Arthur's Quest," "The Wizard of Oz," "Robinson Crusoe" and "Alice in Wonderland".
